We're always fighting with our homes. The bedroom is too dark. The ceilings are too low. When it's not always possible to do a full remodel, sometimes it's actually a good idea to save the money and embrace your home's "faults". 

I love a project like this, where the project is aching for improvement. It gives me a wonderful feeling of "saving" a space.
