Contractor coordination challenges (but we have a plan!)

Hi Erin and Brandon,

Quick update on your partial kitchen remodel and pantry renovation. We've made good progress updating the drawings, but we've hit a common challenge with projects of this size - getting timely responses from independent contractors.

Here's what's happening: We've reached out to several contractors (Joey Pinczes, Pascal Py, David Rupar, and Suny Remodel) for their interest and input, which we really need before finalizing the drawings. Unfortunately, independent contractors often spend most of their time in the field and aren't great with email coordination - it's just the nature of working with smaller, hands-on contractors.

David just returned from a hiking trip in the Alps (lucky him!), which explains his delay. We heard back from him Monday that he is interested and feels the budget is appropriate. You should have an introduction email in your inbox- I’d love to walk the site with the updated drawings and get his input on a few of the challenge areas so we can finalize the drawings. The others haven't responded despite follow-ups, so I switched tactics and sending text messages Monday to get their attention.

Team update: Starting October 1st, Nicole joins us as office manager! She'll be helping with project coordination and you may start seeing her name on @waldrondesigns communications. Having her support will be great for staying on top of contractor follow-ups like this.

The Fabuwood cabinet plans and appliance coordination are ready to go once we get contractor feedback. I'll keep you posted on the text message responses!

Waldron Designs was founded by Rachel Waldron (that’s me!). in 2013.

I am so happy designing that it is not unusual to catch me in a giggle as I rev up to do my work. I think of my designs the way that I think of my children- each is unique and has their own personality. It is my job to nurture them and help them grow, not define them.

I got my bachelor's degree in interior design from Washington State University - a CIDA-accredited school - in 2005, immediately moved into a leadership position and have continued designing with passion.

I received my MBA in Marketing in 2012 and launched Waldron Designs in 2013. When I am not designing, you will find me enjoying my precious time with my husband and two spectacular children.
