PROJECT TIMELINE

  • For this focused project, we are wrapping Pre-Design and Schematic Design phases into Design Development.

    Estimated: 16-20 hours

    Design Development for this project will focus on creating cabinetry that complements your existing Phase 1 bedroom design. During this phase, we will:

    • Project setup and file organization

    • Site visit to measure, photograph, and document existing conditions

    • Review Phase 1 bedroom cabinetry and design to establish complementary direction

    • Develop cabinetry design for second bedroom

    • Create scaled drawings and elevations for cabinetry layout

    • Prepare material and finish specifications consistent with Phase 1

    • Two client presentation and review meetings

    • Revisions between presentations

    • Ongoing correspondence and coordination

    In order to communicate our ideas, we'll leverage whatever tools best serve that purpose. For this project, we typically present:

    • Inspiration imagery

    • Scaled floor plan and elevations

    • Material samples and finish specifications

    • Cabinetry detail drawings

  • Estimated: 10-15 hours

    Construction documents will provide the technical information needed for your cabinet fabricator to execute the design. This phase includes:

    • Prepare construction drawings for cabinet fabricator

    • Provide detailed specifications and finish selections

    • One round of revisions based on client feedback

    • Fabricator coordination meeting and handoff (drawings and specifications only)

    • Invoicing, retainer tracking, and ongoing correspondence

    Since we've made most of the "big" decisions in Design Development, the Construction Documents will include:

    • Detailed cabinetry elevations

    • Construction specifications

    • Material and finish schedules

    • Hardware specifications

  • Estimated: 2-3 hours | $490 - $735

    Optional consultation support is available if desired:

    • Available for questions from fabricator during fabrication/installation

    • One site visit to verify installation aligns with design intent

    This phase is billed separately and only upon client request.
