Sean Waldron is a partner and principal architect at Waldron Designs. He works on a diverse assortment of projects but, as his role suggests, he spends the majority of his time working on architectural design.
Sean values the balance between idealism and rationality. He brings the ability to remain mindful of the “big picture” while focusing on the smallest details to every project and leverages that ability to develop designs that balance pragmatism and beauty.
Sean spent the first years of his professional life working on healthcare projects at NBBJ and commercial ones at The Miller Hull Partnership in Seattle. Many of the designs he’s led and contributed to have been recognized for their various successes - including AIA Honor and Merit awards, LEED Projects of the Year, DBIA Projects of the Year, and various others. While the awards are gratifying, Sean’s true passion is working with individuals to shape spaces that elevate the ordinary, inspire, and improve personal and environmental health.
When he’s not designing, Sean loves to stay physically active. He’s run countless half-marathons and remains an avid runner to this day. However, he has recently rekindled his love of rowing (Greenlake Rowing ‘93-’94) and you can find him paddling out on Quartermaster Harbor on many mornings as a member of the Vashon Island Rowing Club. He also loves spending time with his kids - swimming, shooting hoops, or playing games - and his dogs who keep him company while hiking every weekend (almost!).
