Site Intake

You’re ready to get started, that’s so exciting! But, how much will it cost? What is the design scope?

These questions are best answered with an initial site visit where our team will walk through the space and hear your goals and concerns. After a walk-through with you, we will do preliminary documentation using our high-tech scanning software to gather a scan of your home, which will provide us with imagery as well as fairly accurate dimensions (enough to get the design scope established and develop a project estimate).

It will help us tremendously to get accurate measurements if we have as much of the perimeter of the space clear as possible. Read here to find out the best way to prepare your space for our visit (and understand why it helps us).

We do charge for this visit, based on our standard hourly fees. Sometimes a visit is 30-minutes and other times it is 2 hours. Typically, this appointment involves at least one lead designer, and often a junior designer. A standard site intake and design proposal fee averages approximately $500.

Employee Category Rate

TERMS & CONDITIONS

SERVICES PROVIDED

The site intake meeting includes one site visit to the Owner’s home at the location specified in the intake form to include the following on a priority basis as time permits:

  • Designer(s) and Construction Lead will walk through the space briefly with the Owner and listen to the design challenges.

  • Upon viewing the full project area, a project scope will be developed with the homeowner and evaluated in terms of Owner priority.

  • A full scan of the area(s) to be included in the design scope will be recorded for use in clarifying the project scope and preliminary design needs.

  • Within 7-10 business days, the designer will follow up with a formal proposal for full design services.

DESIGNER AND CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

The Designer shall provide Interior and Architectural Design Services for the Project as described in this agreement on a time-limited basis with the understanding that a full agreement with design estimate will follow. The Designer will work through this meeting to keep the Owner on track so that time may be used efficiently and priority areas considered thoroughly.

The Owner will walk through the space prior to the meeting and develop a list of goals, questions, and problem areas with any decision-makers. This list shall be prioritized, allowing the Designer to provide the highest priority services first due to the limited time available.

SITE INTAKE EXPECTATIONS

It is understood that this is not a design consultation and design decisions will not be made at this meeting. This is a preliminary meeting to allow the development of the project scope for next steps.

An invoice for the time spent at the site and the development of the project scope will be sent following the initial appointment as well as the proposal for design services.

We allow 90 minutes for the meeting time though the meeting may run short. Anything beyond two hours may need a follow-up visit. The Owner will be billed only for time actually used on site as well as follow-up work at the office to assemble proposal and scope of work.

**This is not a live design session**

Design is a time-intensive process. This is the first step, and a chance to talk out the project and develop a plan for moving forward.
