Fireplace Mantel - Stone Alternative Options

Hi Greg, Kim, and Ryan,

Your project is seeing significant progress across multiple design elements this week. Here's what's happening:

This Week's Developments:

  • Received structural drawings, which have been added to your shared project folder

  • Mantel updates are in active development:

  • Continuing integration of the lighting design elements

Following up on the fireplace mantel height requirements - while wood won't work at that location, I've found some excellent stone alternatives that will give you a similar warm, natural feel.

Limestone is going to be your best option - it has the organic warmth closest to wood and will complement your stacked stone beautifully rather than competing with it.

I'd recommend scheduling an appointment at Meta Marble & Granite in Seattle to see their limestone slab options in person. They have a great selection that should work perfectly for your project.

Important: Please bring your stacked stone sample with you so you can see how the limestone options work with your existing stone's gray, green, and rust tones.

I'm happy to meet you there if you'd like my input on which slabs will create the best harmony with your stacked stone facade. Just let me know what works for your schedule.

Comprehensive Approach:

We're working to bring together all design components (structural, architectural, and interiors) to ensure a cohesive final result for your space.

What's Coming:

We expect to complete all design integrations and finalize the Design Development drawings along with updated cabinet pricing by the end of this week. This will give you a comprehensive view of how all elements work together.

Your Review:

Once these updates are complete, we'll share them with you for review and feedback. We want to ensure every detail meets your vision before moving forward.

Timeline:

Multiple updates expected by week's end, with your review to follow shortly after. Thank you for your patience as we coordinate these various design elements. The attention to detail now will result in a beautifully integrated final design.

Best,

Sean & Rachel
