Vashon Vacation Rental- A Shameless Plug
My family recently moved (in October) to a new home that is 98% our dream home! We feel so fortunate to have this amazing home that suits our family perfectly. The only way we were able to make this happen financially was to have a vacation rental as a part of the purchase.
We are so excited to share that after a bit of DIY-ing (there is a time and a place, right?!), we have the cabin up and ready to go and are expecting our first guests shortly. But, we want our Waldron Designs friends to know that we are here and ready to provide a respite from your renovation, and a cozy vacation retreat! Take a peek at our listing and please, come visit us!
We had a lot of fun putting it together. Of course, in my fantasy world, I have several ideas for the wall of glass I’d like facing the water… but for now, it’s a great little cabin with access to the beach and birdwatching galore (the beach has been recognized by the Audobon for its 37 species of birds that use this area!)
Our goal for the cabin was to provide a light and airy space for hot summer days that would also feel warm and cozy on winter nights. The connection to the coast and bringing the outdoors in was a must, but we wanted to avoid the cliche nautical styling. It was also important to me to be as sustainable as possible. No, solar panels were not in the budget (yet), but we did skip the bleached cotton linens and went with 100% linen on the bed. We chose soap containers that could be refilled (no throwaways!), and items that could be reused via washing.
All of that on a budget and using pieces from our existing home! How did we do? You can be the judge:
