Design Development Budgeting

Hi Greg,

I wanted to respond to your inquiry about budgeting for this upcoming design phase. Unless we specifically tell you to expect something different from our proposal, we anticipate remaining on budget based on that information. I’m inserting your proposal here for reference, and you can also find it in your docs on the home page.

I love getting questions like this, because it helps me think through our transparency and ability to share information fully. So, I also added the proposal wording, including estimates to the project timeline :)

I know that Ryan began the work on the DD phase and I will be taking time to review what he started over the weekend.

As I begin this review, I’d like to start by reiterating the feedback I heard from you, so that I’m ensuring to move forward in the right direction.

  • Y’all like the first vision board- “Rustic Modern” in terms of the general feeling for the space along with bits of the “Transitional” board.

  • For the exterior, you’d like the front columns above the brick to be tapered for more of a craftsman approach.

  • You prefer the simpler windows for a more open view.

  • You will handle landscape design

  • In terms of the interior layout, you prefer the “Garden - Minimal Impact” approach with the updated kitchen layout. Note that we now have access to Fabuwood, which may actually make your kitchen worth considering sooner. I priced out a kitchen last week, that would normally fall in the $30k range for cabinets at $8k!!

  • The remainder of the layout will not be a consideration moving forward.

Please let me know if I’ve missed anything!

I hope y’all have a wonderful 4th!!

Rachel Waldron

Waldron Designs was founded by Rachel Waldron (that’s me!). in 2013.

I am so happy designing that it is not unusual to catch me in a giggle as I rev up to do my work. I think of my designs the way that I think of my children- each is unique and has their own personality. It is my job to nurture them and help them grow, not define them.

I got my bachelor's degree in interior design from Washington State University - a CIDA-accredited school - in 2005, immediately moved into a leadership position and have continued designing with passion.

I received my MBA in Marketing in 2012 and launched Waldron Designs in 2013. When I am not designing, you will find me enjoying my precious time with my husband and two spectacular children.
