Moving into Design Development

We're excited to move forward with your project and dive into the Design Development (DD) phase! This email provides a brief overview of what to expect and next steps.

As the name suggests, DD focuses on refining and developing the design established in the Schematic Design phase. You can expect us to:

  • Explore various design elements: This could involve experimenting with materials for specific areas or studying different window layouts.

  • Enhance the overall design: We'll use a variety of tools to communicate our ideas, including inspiration imagery, diagrams, detailed drawings, and material samples.

  • Present and refine: Similar to Schematic Design, we anticipate multiple presentations throughout this phase to ensure we're on the same page and ready to progress.

For a more in-depth look at this phase, please review this document.

Next Steps:

  1. Schedule a Meeting: We'll be ready to discuss the initial DD concepts between June 9th and 20th. Use the link at the bottom of this message to schedule a convenient time. This will be a less formal meeting and more of a gut check meeting to ensure that we are moving along the right path in terms of FF&E (Furnishings, Finishes, and Equipment, or finish & fixture selections as we most commonly refer to this portion of the process)

We're eager to collaborate with you and bring your vision to life!

Rachel Waldron

Waldron Designs was founded by Rachel Waldron (that’s me!). in 2013.

I am so happy designing that it is not unusual to catch me in a giggle as I rev up to do my work. I think of my designs the way that I think of my children- each is unique and has their own personality. It is my job to nurture them and help them grow, not define them.

I got my bachelor's degree in interior design from Washington State University - a CIDA-accredited school - in 2005, immediately moved into a leadership position and have continued designing with passion.

I received my MBA in Marketing in 2012 and launched Waldron Designs in 2013. When I am not designing, you will find me enjoying my precious time with my husband and two spectacular children.
