Sustainability: Not Just A Perk
As children, we never saw the red skies that come from local wildfires. We never had to worry about whether our air was clean enough to go outside. We didn’t watch king tides in awe, wondering why peoples’ homes were built so close to the beach because they were flooding. We remember talking about hairspray putting a hole in the ozone, but we didn’t FEEL the ramifications of global warming. It didn’t feel real.
Green Vinyl? You’ve Been Greenwashed!
o quote a colleague who specializes in sustainable product research, “The Vinyl Institute has done a great job of misleading consumers about the toxicity of the products their industry produces… Inherently, petroleum-based products are toxic, regardless if they can be recycled.”
Lighting: Discretion vs. Flamboyance
We all have our own personal styles at Waldron Designs, but in the end, what we design is tailored to what our clients desire and what suits their styles. The Astonishing Power of Lighting on Your Well-being

There are two crucial factors that should be considered before even scheduling that initial consultation. Time and Money. They absolutely do matter in planning a design project. Read on to find out how to develop your budget.
Eclectic Minimalism
According to one of our favorite furniture retailers, Joybird, Washingtonians love Eclectic design. My favorite part about this is that we are the ONLY state that preferred this design style above all others. Ready for this to get even better? Eclectic design is described as “a type of interior design that blends different styles and motifs together to create a unique aesthetic” (Master Class). We chose a unique aesthetic, and we were the only ones to choose this.
What It Means To Be A Sustainable Design-Build Firm
We hear it all the time “green materials,” “sustainable practices,” but what does this mean? Sometimes it is a marketing ploy, something to convince people that they are making the right moral decision by purchasing that vinyl flooring that “meets sustainability standards.” Other times, it means that firm is doing the very best it can and are constantly working to do better.
